William F. Shemanski, 66, of Waymart, passed away on Saturday morning, April 13, 2019 at home, after a battle against cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife, the former Billie Jo Hott.
Born November 24, 1952 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Stanley Shemanski and Jennie L. (Beam) Bellis. He was the step-son of the late Michael Bellis.
Bill retired from Hendrick Manufacturing Co. in Carbondale where worked for more than 40 years. He loved his family, hunting and fishing. He was also fond of the Yankees, birdwatching, photography, and wildlife. Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is also survived by two daughters: Melissa Shemanski and her companion Peter Fox, and Rebecca Wagner and her husband Kevin; a son: Willie Shemanski and his wife Danielle; 8 grandchildren; siblings: Jacqueline Wormuth of Maryland, James Flynn of Blairstown, NJ, Stanley Shemanski of Waymart, John Shemanski of Factoyville; and nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Shemanski.
In accordance with his wishes, following cremation, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
The wishes to extend gratitude to Traditional Home Health and Hospice and the Brundage’s Pharmacy for their care, compassion, and professionalism.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to Bill’s family to help offset medical and final expenses.
