William E. Dolph

January 1, 1939 — August 1, 2017

William E. Dolph, 77, of Waymart passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, August 1, 2017 at Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart after an illness.

Born October 6, 1939 in Waymart, he was the son of the late William Elmer and Katherine (Pitus) Dolph.

After High School, Bill worked for Johnson & Higgins Co., Wall Street, New York, NY where he was a mail clerk, file clerk, and Wall Street Messenger.  Bill enjoyed traveling and playing Bingo.  His favorite hobby was collecting refrigerator magnets of which he accumulated more than six hundred.  Bill also collected more than two hundred authentic autographed photos of Hollywood's actors and music artists.  He thoroughly enjoyed his life in New York City and was proud of his tenure on Wall Street.

A faithful and devout Catholic, Bill loved his Waymart parish, St. Mary's, and all the many souls he knew there.  A caring and thoughtful man, Bill remembered his many friends and acquaintances in special ways, often sending a birthday card or note of encouragement.  He was a central figure of the Waymart community and will be fondly remembered as a faithful brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend.

He is survived by two brothers:  Joseph Dolph and Edward Dolph, both of Waymart; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bill was also preceded in death by two brothers:  John Dolph and Clarence Dolph.
