Shirley Dawn Kielar, 90, of Waymart passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, October 14, 2025 at home. Her husband of 58 years, Robert R. Kielar preceded her in death on April 4, 2019.
Born October 6, 1935 in Honesdale, Dawn was the daughter of the late Russell G. and Louise D. (Bayly) Perry.
Dawn was a graduate of Honesdale High School. She was an accomplished seamstress as well as a homemaker for most of her life. Years ago, she operated a daycare in her home where she loved and nurtured many children. Dawn was an avid traveler. She enjoyed visiting nearly all 50 states and had the opportunity to go on a few cruises. Dawn was a huge Elvis fan was proud to tell others that she and Elvis were born the same year. She loved spending time with her family friends and looked forward to spending time together. Dawn will be lovingly remembered by everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.
Dawn is survived by a son, Robert J. Kielar and his significant other Stacey Anderson of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Jodi Kielar of Waymart; two grandchildren: Christopher Benedict and Cheyenne Phillips; and a great-grandson, Jayden. One half brother Kenny Perry along with his son Ken and Alisha Perry and there son Junior.
Along with many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Russell Perry Jr., and Robert Perry; and four sisters: June Rogan, Beverly Bunting, Vivian Sheehan, and Carol Switzer.
In accordance with Dawn's wishes, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Private inurnment will be in The Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners.
