Robert J. Hild

Robert Joseph Hild, also known in the community as "Bob the Painter" 66, of Mount Pleasant Township, Wayne County, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Saturday August 16, 2025 at his home.

He was born on May 19, 1959 in Manhattan, NY to Vera Saccullo Larsen of Middletown, NY and the late Richard R. Hild. Bob grew up in Greenwood Lake, NY and was a graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School. In 1980 Bob moved out west and spent some time working on the tugboats of the Mississippi river before settling in Colorado where he began his family. Bob moved to Wayne County in 1997 and began his career at Wayne Memorial Hospital where he was a painter, fixer and really jack of all trades. After retiring last year, he continued to paint, create amazing woodwork and would always lend a helping hand to people in need.

Everyone who knew Bob knew he was a kind, generous & fun-loving man. He always put other people and their needs before his own and sought every opportunity to help others, even if it was simply making them smile and laugh. He truly had a heart of gold, and was deeply loved by his family, many friends and the community he cherished so much. He will forever be remembered as the talented, goofy, loving and devoted man we all love.

In addition to his mother, Bob is survived by Stacie Saye (his ex-wife) of Greeley, CO and their three daughters: Tanya Terry (Justin) of Greeley, CO and children Joseph Alps, Christopher Alps (Kerrighan) and Ethan Terry. Deidre Mineo (Pete) of Port Crane, NY, and his youngest Kayla Hild of Broomfield, CO and her daughter Terra Rae. His siblings, sister Carol Ramlow (Bill) and their son Kenny and daughter CarolAnn Rosado (George) of Chester, NY. His brother Ricky (Late wife Sue) of Blue Ridge, GA and their daughter Suzanne Hamilton (George) also of Blue Ridge, GA. His youngest sister, Terri Cavender (Jack) their kids Christopher Cavender-Diaz (Juan) of Waltham, MA, Anthony Cavender (Danielle) of Middletown, NY and Joanie Moore (Deonte) of Port Jervis, NY. Brother-in-law John Saye (Ellen) of Highland Mills, NY. And last, but certainly not least, his loving girlfriend, Tammy Kellam. "Roberto Joseph Hilt" was very close with Tammy's family, Gerty (Mom), daughters Autumn and Ariel, son James Marvin as well as Tammy's brother Troy.

The entire family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of Bob's friends, co-workers and neighbors who have shared kind words and memories during this extremely difficult time, it means the world to each of us. We would also like to extend that same heartfelt gratitude to Edward Howell, whose care and compassion with our family (and all the calls he has received) has not gone unnoticed. Knowing our dad was taken such great care of after he passed by someone he knew and trusted means so much to us.

A paintbrush has been laid to rest, but his colors will live on forever.

Fly high Dad and until we see you again, know your legacy will live on in each of us and we will continue to make you proud.

To honor the memory of our dad, take any opportunity to make someone smile, to lend a helping hand and to always be kind.

Memorial Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family at a later date.

Arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Howell Family Funeral Home, Inc., Edward R. Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472. www.HowellFamilyFuneralHome.com
