Ralph Neuhaus

Ralph Neuhaus, 93, of Waymart, South Canaan Twp., died peacefully on Tuesday evening, April 14, 2026 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, after an illness. He married his first wife, Kristine Ellis (Knudsen) Neuhaus in 1958; she preceded him in death in 1994. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Dorothy (Grover) Volpe Neuhaus.

Born December 9, 1932 in Carlstadt, New Jersey, he was the son of German immigrants, the late Herman Adolph Amandus Neuhaus and Herta Marta Lisbeth (Davids) Neuhaus.

Ralph was a veteran of the US Army. He served during the Korean War from 1953-1955 and attained the rank of Corporal. For many years, he worked as a manager in the plastics industry in New Jersey. He was a Freemason, and a member of the Nutley Masonic Lodge #25 F&AM. Upon his retirement, Ralph and Dorothy relocated to South Canaan in 1996. They attended the South Canaan Free Methodist Church. Ralph was a talented woodworker. He was also an avid sportsman and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He will be fondly remembered and lovingly missed by everyone who knew him.

He is also survived by three children: Christine Tami, Robert Neuhaus, and Brian Neuhaus; two step-sons, Michael Volpe and Paul Volpe; a sister, Gloria Westerman; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Ralph K. Neuhaus in 2001.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Restland Memorial Park, 77 Deforest Ave, East Hanover, NJ 07936. Everyone attending is asked to go directly to the cemetery on Friday.

In accordance with Ralph's wishes, there will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ralph's memory to Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Drive, Honesdale, PA 18431.
