Patricia Ann Sporer, 89, of Honesdale, died peacefully on Monday morning, July 6, 2026 at Wayne Memorial Hospital with her loving children by her side. Her beloved husband of nearly 66 years, John J. "Jack" Sporer preceded her in death on September 26, 2024. They were married October 25, 1958 in St. Mary Magdalen Church in Honesdale.
Born February 6, 1937 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late Wallace G. Williams and Laura E. Williams.
Pat was a graduate of Honesdale High School, Class of 1955. She later graduated from Lenox Hill Hospital School of Nursing in New York in 1958 as a Registered Nurse. For more than 40 years, Pat worked at Wayne Memorial Hospital as both a staff and private duty nurse. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Honesdale and enjoyed being active in various projects there. She was well known in Needles for Needs for her knitting.
Jack and Pat enjoyed traveling extensively; they especially loved spending winters in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where they had many friends from various parts of the country. Pat will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and friend; her family was her greatest joy.
Pat is survived by a daughter, Jill Sporer of Louisville, Kentucky; and a son, Jay Sporer and his companion Elaine Lytle of Waymart.
A brief memorial service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026 at 3:00 PM in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 107 7th Street, Honesdale PA with Pastor Adam Reinhardt officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM in the church on Monday.
Pat's family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Wayne Memorial Hospital and Personal Home Health and Hospice for their kindness and care, and their utmost gratitude to Bethany Village Senior Living Community for their love and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Pat's memory to: St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Attn: Building Fund, 107 7th Street, Honesdale PA 18431, or the charity of the donor's choice.
