Matthew Thomas Day, 35, a resident of Syracuse, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 30, 2026. His wife, Nicole (Prudenti) Day survives him. They were married on September 4, 2021.

Born on March 15, 1991 in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Kevin and Suzanne (Kovaleski) Day of Pleasant Mount, PA.

In addition to his wife and parents, Matthew is also survived by his two daughters, Elyssa LaMarca and Sophia Czerwinsky; his brother, Alexander Day and his wife Heather; his grandparents, Albert and Linda Day of Equinunk, PA; his grandmother, Linda Day of Hawley, PA; his nephew, Thomas Day; his niece, Octavia Day; and many friends and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Joyce Kovaleski.

Matthew grew up in Honesdale Pennsylvania. It was there that he found a passion for cooking, and his love for mechanics. He drew inspiration from music; and Matthew also volunteered at Honesdale Protection Engine 3 Fire Company. Honesdale is where Matthew fell in love with his wife and became a father.

After moving to Syracuse, Matthew was a Mechanic for Alan Byer Volvo. He was also a volunteer firefighter at Taunton Volunteer Fire Department.

In his spare time, Matthew loved spending time with his wife and kids and their animals. He enjoyed going to concerts and attending local Syracuse events.

Matthew was loved by many people; he truly made a difference and touched the lives of everyone he met.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
