Marsha J. Anderson, 83, of Pleasant Mount, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, July 13, 2026 at home. Her husband of nearly 69 years, Carl E. Anderson survives her.
Born May 10, 1943 in Pleasant Mount, she was the daughter of the late Marshall K. Brooking and Florence (Wolfe) Brooking.
Marsha was born and raised in Pleasant Mount. During her childhood, she attended Lakewood School, and later graduated from Hancock High School. She married Carl on October 14, 1967. Settling on the family farm on Bigelow Lake Road, they built a happy life together. In addition to working on the farm, Marsha also worked at Camp Lohikan, formerly known as Mount Tone, and the Katz Factory in Honesdale.
She enjoyed spending time outdoors, and especially loved to go fishing. Marsha also took pleasure in tending her garden and mowing the lawn. She was also fond of needlepoint and making beautiful crafts with her talent and skill. Most of all, she loved her husband, children and grandchildren; she will be remembered with love and never forgotten.
She is also survived by two children: Sandra Komar and her husband William, and Richard Anderson and Jennifer, all of Pleasant Mount; three grandchildren: Ben Komar and his wife Cassie, Kristine Salak and her husband PJ, and Dakota Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Irene Curtis.
