Marilyn J. Hutchison

Marilyn J. Hutchison, 86, of Rapidan, Virginia died Sunday morning, May 17, 2026 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia after an illness. Her husband, Andrew E. Hutchison preceded her in death on November 10, 2018.

Born June 26, 1939 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Frank J. and Mary A. (Rusnak) Kernoski. Following her graduation from high school, she attended the former Wayne Commercial School in Honesdale. She later worked at Highlights for Children and during this time, she met her husband, Andy. His career with the National Park Service enabled them to experience various parts of the country. Marilyn was a faithful Catholic and her faith was important to her. She will be remembered as a kind and loving sister, aunt, and friend.

She is survived by a sister, Karen A. Kernoski of Waymart; and a nephew, Frank Kernoski; of South Gibson.

Marilyn was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank J. Kernoski, Jr.; an infant sister, Catherine; and a niece, Vanessa Kernoski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 22, 2026 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary's Church, 242 Carbondale Road, Waymart, PA 18472 with Rev. Jospeh Sitko and Deacon Edward Kelly officiating. Everyone attending is asked to go directly to the church.

Interment will be Friday in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township.
