Margaret A. Swartz

Margaret A. Swartz, 94, of Lake Lorain, Preston Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, July 11, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family, at home. Her husband of nearly 70 years, Kenneth J. Swartz survives her. They were married on December 29, 1956 in St. James Church, Pleasant Mount.

Born February 20, 1932, in Pleasant Mount, she was the daughter of the late William R. O'Neill and Gertrude (Meagher) O'Neill.

Margaret was a parishioner of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and St. James Church in Pleasant Mount. For many years, she was the Director of Admissions at the Carbondale General Hospital. Following her retirement, Margaret enjoyed traveling and maintained many friendships in Bradenton, Florida. She will be lovingly remembered by everyone who was blessed to know her.

In addition to her husband, Margaret is also survived by two sons: Kenneth J. Swartz, Jr. and his wife Anne of Lake Lorain, and William J. Swartz and his wife Ursula of Harrisburg; a grandson, Kevin Swartz and his fiance Maggie May of Louisville, KY; a granddaughter, Jessica McDonald and her husband Mike; two great-grandchildren: Cam and Ava; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers: William R. O'Neill, Jr. and Daniel O'Neill; and a sister, Mary Lisowski.

A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. James Church, Pleasant Mount, at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be private in St. James Cemetery, Pleasant Mount.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margaret's memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
