Louis Nolan, 80, of Honesdale passed away suddenly of natural causes on Wednesday morning, November 5, 2025, at Wayne Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his best friend and companion of 33 years, Serina E. Mitchell.
Born June 12, 1945, in Trenton, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Gerald T. and Inez M. (Gregg) Nolan.
When he was a young man, Lou was an automotive mechanic in Callicoon, New York. He later became a co-owner of G&L Body Shop in Honesdale. For most of his life, Lou was a truck driver. Locally, he drove truck for Howe Oil Co. of Lake Ariel. Lou also drove for Herzog Trucking and Roadway Trucking before his retirement. An avid outdoorsman, Lou especially loved hunting with his nephew and best "hunting buddy", Jim Nolan. He enjoyed fishing, and always looked forward to frying up whatever he caught when he returned home. Through the years, Lou and Serina made many wonderful memories camping together in various parts of the country. A family man at heart, Lou enjoyed being together with friends, family, and loved ones. He especially loved the holiday season. Lou will never be forgotten; he'll be forever missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
In addition to Serina, Lou is also survived by: his son, Edward Nolan; his grandson, Shaun Nolan; his sister, Shirley Brown of Waymart; his sister-in-law, Leona Nolan of Aldenville; Serina's children, Ronnie Consalvo and Beth Ann Lill; and Serina's grandson, Cody Troast; nieces, and nephews.
Lou was also preceded in death by a son, Randy M. Nolan; his brother, Thomas Nolan, and brother-in-law, Donald Brown.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 4:00 PM at the Howell Family Funeral Home, Inc., Edward R. Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472.
There will be a viewing on Sunday afternoon from 1-4 PM in the funeral home.
Interment will be private in The Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lou's memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
