John "Jack" Hinkley

John "Jack" Hinkley, 81, of Waymart passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Wayne Memorial Hospital after an illness. His beloved wife, the former Gloria J. Vandermark preceded him in death in 2020. They were married on January 23, 1965.

Born December 1, 1943 in Port Jervis, New York, he was the son of the late Harrison and Elizabeth (Hart) Hinkley.

Jack was an avid woodworker and also enjoyed fishing. For many years, he lived in Lake Ariel. Most recently, he enjoyed living at Elk Lake where enjoyed the company of friends and neighbors. Jack dearly loved his wife, and missed her terribly after she passed away. Jack's family is comforted in knowing that Jack and Gloria are finally reunited for all of eternity. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by four children: John Hinkley, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of North Carolina, Kimberly Montauredes and her husband Stephen of Beach Lake, Colleen Boguski and her husband Dennis of Waymart, and Denise VanBrunt and her husband James of Gouldsboro; two sisters: Jean Brock, Barbara Drew ; and a brother, James Hinkley, all of Port Jervis, NY; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Jack was also preceded in death by a grandson, Arich Boguski.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal services; a private memorial service with his family will be held at a later date.
