James R. Skelton

James "Jim" Robert Skelton Sr., 77, of Waymart passed away at home on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024 after ongoing health issues. He is survived by his wife, Brenda (LaMorte) Skelton. They were married on April 20th, 1968 and enjoyed 56 blessed years together.

Jim was born on October 22nd, 1946 in Carbondale, PA. He was the eldest son of the late Wayne and Ruth (Parry) Skelton.

Jim lived his entire life on the family farmland in Clinton Twp. This inspired his interest in tractors.

He also enjoyed journaling, reading and Sunday (or anyday) drives.

Jim spent his career driving feed truck for Honesdale Feed Bin and milk truck for Henderson Trucking. He loved visiting the farms, talking to his customers and giving chocolate milk to the kids on his routes.

After retirement, Jim enjoyed time spent traveling with Brenda to their favorite locations in the Amish Country of Ohio. He could often be seen with his canine companion, Libby.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his 5 children - James Skelton Jr., Waymart; Lisa (Skelton) Fries and husband Kirk, Prompton; Matt Skelton and Jennifer Rodriguez, Honesdale; Kristy (Skelton) Rusin and husband Steve, Hamlin; and Sarah Skelton and husband Patrick O'Donnell of Lansdowne. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren.

He is survived by 3 siblings - Larry Skelton, Judy (Skelton) Shaffer, and Dennis Skelton.

A celebration of life will be planned by the family at a future date.
