Irene Bielawski Perry

January 1, 1932 — August 10, 2017

Irene Bielawski Perry, 85, of Waymart passed away Thursday evening, August 10, 2017 at Forest City Rehab Center.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Anthony J. Bielawski in 1977.  She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Benjamin Perry.

Born June 21, 1932 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Preambo) Kasperski.

Irene grew up in Throop and moved to Waymart while married to Anthony.  She lived her life in Waymart and worked for many years at The Waymart Knitwear where she was a talented seamstress.  Her grandchildren were blessed to be able to wear clothing she made for them.  Irene also enjoyed crafting and her family was blessed with many handmade gifts. Years after The Waymart Knitwear closed, Irene worked in the same building after it's conversion to Mallard Meadows Nursing Home.  Irene enjoyed her years there, where she was cook and managed the kitchen.  She loved serving the residents, many of whom were younger than she.  More than anything else, Irene loved her large family and spending time with those she loved.

She is survived by three children:  John Bielawski of Lansdale, Lucille Moser of South Canaan, and Anthony Bielawski and his wife Linda of Milford; a step-daughter, Marcia Gager and her husband Keith of Honesdale; grandchildren:  Richard, Amy, and Philip Robinson, Melissa Klemmer, Anthony and Pam Bielawski, Mark, Sharon and Kurt Moser, Erica Booth, Stacy O'Brien, and Adam Bielawski; 14 great-grandchildren, sisters:  Ann Battle of Endwell, NY, Marie Mackreth of Sterling, a brother: Joseph Kersavage of Olyphant; half-sisters:  Tina Weinberger and Cathy Weinberger, plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Irene was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Robinson; two sisters:  Pauline Henderson and Joan Davis; a half-sister, Margie Weinberger; and a step-son, Daniel Perry.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
