Eugenia Baicousheff, of Whitestone, Queens, New York, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024. Her beloved husband, Reverend Anesti Baicousheff, who was ordained in the Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Church, preceded her in death.
Eugenia was the daughter of the late William and Mary Keblish who were founding members of the St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Whitestone. Eugenia and Anesti were active members of the Whitestone parish. She sang in the church choir, served as a Sunday School Teacher and was a member of the St. Mary's Sisterhood. Eugenia also supported her husband in his work for the Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Diocese of the USA, Canada, and Australia, assisting His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph.
Eugenia received her Masters degree in Botany from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, where she developed her keen interest in science and her love of gardening.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Baicousheff and Anne Klug, and her son-in-law Frank Klug; by her sister Natalie Orloff, by her brother-in-law, Nicholas Orloff, and by her many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 10:30 AM at St. Tikhon's Monastery Church, 175 St. Tikhon's Road, Waymart, PA 18472.
Interment will be Monday in St. Tikhon's Monastery Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Eugenia‘s memory to St. Tikhons Monastery, 175 St. Tikhon’s Road, Waymart, PA 18473.
