Emil A. Pacitti, 94, of Hawley passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, August 15, 2024 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. His first wife, the former Angelina Pomante preceded him in death in 1968. He later married the former Anne Klebasko for 48 years until her death in 2018.

Born August 6, 1930 in South Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Anthony and Antoinette (DeCroce) Pacitti.

Emil was a 1948 graduate of Haverford High School. In July of the same year, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. and proudly served his country during the Korean War, until his Honorable Discharge in 1951. In 1952, Emil and Angelina were married until her untimely death in 1968.

Emil worked for Bell of Pennsylvania where he was a data consultant, as well as other positions, for 35 years prior to his retirement. During this time he enrolled at Villanova University where he earned an Associate's Degree. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Emil was an avid Philadelphia Eagle's fan. He enjoyed playing softball, basketball and also coached the basketball team for Bell of PA. During his school years, he played football, basketball, and baseball. Emil shared his sports passion with his children and enjoyed coaching boy's little league football and girls softball.

Family vacations at Woodloch Pines Resort in Hawley, PA, many years ago planted a seed that grew into a profound love and connection with Northeast Pennsylvania. Upon moving to this area, Emil happily joined the Woodloch family and worked in security during the night shift. He also remained faithfully connected to the Bell of PA retirees Pioneers Club until his death.

Emil was a sincere Christian and devout Catholic; he was a member of the B.V.M. Queen of Peace Church in Hawley. He served as an usher for several years. Also, he and his wife Anne taught Pre Cana classes, and served on the Parish Council.

His family is grateful for the many beautiful and happy memories they have shared together, and there is rejoicing in knowing that Emil is at peace and surrounded by the loving presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his four children: Elizabeth Anderson of Charleston, SC, Carol Thompson of Gerrardstown, WV, Thomas Pacitti and his wife Elise of Acworth, GA, and Judith Sullivan and her husband Richard of Hawley, PA; and Anne's children, Karin Povish of Milford, MI, and Robert Povish of Boyertown, PA, Patricia Povish, daughter-in-law, of Pottstown, PA; his brother, Edward Pacitti, of West Chester, PA; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Emil was preceded in death by son-in-law, Edward Anderson, twin granddaughters Rachael and Melissa Sullivan, and two of Anne's children, Nicole Prinzivalli, and Eric Povish.

A Blessing Service and Liturgy of the Word will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary's Church, 242 Carbondale Road, Waymart, PA with Deacon Edward Kelly officiating.

In accordance with Emil's wishes, private inurnment with military honors will be in B.V.M. Queen of Peace Cemetery, Hawley, PA at the convenience of the family.
