Edward D. Schulz

Edward D. Schulz, 54, of Waymart, died of natural causes while hunting on Saturday morning, December 2, 2023, doing what he loved in Susquehanna County. His beloved wife, Kathryn (Linthicum) Schulz survives him.

Born September 23, 1969 in Rochester, New York he was the son of the late Karl E. Schulz, Sr and Stella J. (Brounscheidel) Schulz of Florida.

Eddie was a graduate of Albion High School in Albion, New York and Brockport State College where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology. He began his career working for the State of North Carolina where he was a Corrections Officer at Central Prison. He then embarked on an enduring career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons for more than 23 years. He was currently serving at USP Canaan where he was a Corrections Officer. Eddie loved his family; especially his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time in the great outdoors.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Kathryn; his mother, Stella; his sisters, Katrina Schulz and Amy Tuero; his brother, Karl Schulz Jr. and his wife Danielle; nieces Kayleigh Howes, Stella Tremper, Addyson Schulz and his nephews; Cody Ford, CJ Tuero, Christopher Tremper, Connor Ford, Thomas Tuero, and his puppies, Pekaboo, Saydee, and Gidget.

Friends and family may visit on Saturday, December 16 from 2:00 PM until the time of service in the funeral home.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, December 16 at 3:00 PM in the Howell Family Funeral Home, Inc. Edward R. Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA with USP Canaan Chaplain Nicholas Moore officiating.

Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Eddie's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Dessin Animal Shelter.
