Douglas E. Johnson

Douglas E. Johnson, 79, of Waymart, formerly of Queens, New York, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, February 13, 2026 at Allied Hospice Inpatient Unit in Scranton. 

His loving wife, the former Michele A. Sciroppo survives him.

Born September 27, 1946 in Whitestone, New York, he was the son of the late Emil and Clara (Zielinsk) Johnson.

In addition to his wife Michele, he is also survived by his children, Amanda Johnson, and Matthew Johnson and his wife Ana; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Melanie Lonetto.

A Blessing Service will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 6:00 PM in the Howell Family Funeral Home, Inc., Edward R. Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472.

Friends may visit on Thursday from 1-3 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
