Diann Welsh

Diann F. Welsh, 74, of Honesdale, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, November 30, 2023, at home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin T. Holbert and Alice G. Holbert, and Buddy the cat. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Robert A. Welsh, Jr, and their children Ronald (Stacey), Ryan (Tiffany), and Rachel (David), and granddaughter Paige Fiume. She is survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Born April 3, 1949, in Carbondale, she spent her life dedicated to her family and friends. She was a true friend who cared deeply about others; she would do anything possible to lend a helping hand. Whether you called her Diann, Honey, Mom, Aunt Di, Nana Di, Di, Mrs. Welsh, Dinn, or Sugar Britches, you knew she would listen to you, help you, pray for you, and put you on the prayer list.

Before managing a trucking business Diann worked at Katz's Factory, Sherman Mills, Card & Candle, and more bake sales for her kids' events than they can count. Diann was an active member of Central United Methodist Church and volunteered for Victim's Intervention Program and The Wayne County Republican Women's Club. She loved to support many organizations including Honesdale Wresting and 4H to attend the livestock auctions. Diann's creativity and ability to problem solve was outmatched only by her will to help those in need. She loved to buy whatever kids were selling for school fundraisers even if she didn't need or use what they were selling.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 4:00 PM in the Wesley Room at Central United Methodist Church, 205 11th Street, Honesdale, PA with Pastor Eric Funk officiating.

Visitation will be on Friday from 2:00-4:00 in the Wesley Room.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Diann's memory to help build the handicapped entrance of the Central United Methodist Church.

Diann's children are eternally grateful to Brittany Gummoe and Tiffany Isaacs for all the support they gave to their Aunt Di over the years.

Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Howell Family Funeral Home, Inc. Edward R. Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart PA. www.HowellFamilyFuneralHome.com
