Constance Szabo

Constance "Connie" Szabo, 92, of Waymart died on Friday afternoon, September 19, 2025 at Julia Ribaudo Nursing Home in Lake Ariel.

Born on December 23, 1932 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late William and Ann (Kudla) Furman.

Connie attended St. Ladislaus School and church. This was a Hungarian-American parish. In 1951, she graduated from St. Peters High School, New Brunswick, New Jersey. She married Ted Szabo in 1954. They had a son William M. Szabo in 1960. When she was 51 years old, Connie moved to Pennsylvania, finally settling in Waymart, PA. She was a member of the former First Baptist Church of Waymart Baptist on Honesdale Road.

Connie loved cats, dogs, tigers and birds. She belonged to many clubs including The National Bird Feeding Society, National Parks, Backyard Wild-Life Habitat, and many more. She loved hiking and belonged to the Appalachian Trail. In the summertime, she went to car shows with her good friend Paul Russell.

Connie is survived by her son, William M. Szabo, Sr.; a grandson, William M. Szabo, Jr., and two great-grandsons, all of New Jersey.

In accordance with her wishes, following cremation, there will be no public services.
