Christina A. Krog, 67, of Salem Township, near Hamlin, passed away at home on Monday, February 19, 2024.
Born September 3, 1956 in Jamaica, New York, she was the daughter of Eileen H. Newman of Farmville, Virginia and the late Francis N. Krog.
Chris attended Western Wayne High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Penn State University in English with a minor in journalism. She worked for various roles over the years including Kmart as an assistant manager, acquired her real estate license, managed her own mortgage processing corporation and in customer service at Bank of America prior to her retirement.
Chris's love of animals began in 4-H in her childhood and grew to a dog lover as an adult. She painted most often in acrylics but also produced pieces in oils, pastels, watercolors, and had many sketches. She was extremely talented and would depict abstracts, portraits, landscapes, and still life. She had hobbies including making cookies to give away and beautiful crocheted blankets for family and friends to enjoy.
She will always be loved by those who knew and cared for her. She will be deeply missed.
In addition to her mother, she is also survived by her brother, Frank Krog of Jefferson Township; and her niece, Jennifer Green of Waymart; great nephews, Matthew Palmer of Lake Ariel, and Shawn Ward of Waymart; her aunts, Mary Ryan of Virginia, and Barbara McCarthy of Massachusetts.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
