Ann Reifler Klinkiewicz, 98, of Waymart, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at home.
Born and raised in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, Ann was the daughter of the late Howard Reifler and Irene (Bidwell) Reifler. She spent many years in Prompton, where she and her husband, Joseph, raised their five children. Later in life, she made her home in a farmhouse in Waymart.
As soon as she was old enough, Ann began working as a seamstress at the Katz Factory, where she worked for many years. A gifted seamstress, she made clothing, curtains, and other household items, and passed her knowledge and skills down to younger generations. Her creativity was also evident in her talent for interior decorating. With her wonderful eye for design, she offered advice to many women on making their homes beautiful.
Ann was equally at home in the garden and the kitchen. She taught her family how to skin a deer, grow a garden, and can vegetables-often putting up enough food to feed the whole neighborhood. She loved to cook, play cards, and create and tend beautiful flower gardens. Resourceful, generous, and endlessly capable, Ann shared not only the fruits of her labor but also the practical knowledge that her family will carry forward for generations.
Ann married Joseph Klinkiewicz on October 16, 1948. They shared more than 56 years of marriage before his passing on February 22, 2005.
She is survived by her five children: Theresa King, Patricia Millen, Donna Brundage, Karen James, and Mark Klinkiewicz; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her three brothers, Harold "Pete" Reifler, Vincent "Vinny" Reifler, and Robert "Bobby" Reifler; and her three sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Kline, Kathryn "Kitty" Keenan, and Shirley Perry.
Ann will be remembered for the beautiful homes and gardens she created, the meals she lovingly prepared, the skills she so generously taught, and the lasting legacy of family she leaves behind.
Her family would like to extend sincerest gratitude to Kristen, Deneva, Todd, Jessica and Angela from Personal Home Health & Hospice.
A Blessing Service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026 at 6:00 PM with Deacon Edward Kelly officiating at the Howell Family Funeral Home, Inc., Edward R. Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472.
Friends may visit on Friday from 4-6 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ann's memory to Shriners Hospital or St Judes.
Interment will be private in The Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners, Owego Turnpike.
